Much of the time, whirring cicadas (and the occasional crowing cockerel) are the loudest sounds you'll hear at Red Tractor Farm. The mix of rooms – within cottages built of local stone in traditional style, with whitewashed interiors and flagstone floors – suits families, couples or groups of friends, and includes studios, double rooms, and houses that sleep up to four with loft beds and private gardens. All rooms have their own entrance and seating area, and for cooler evenings (unlike most island accommodation, Red Tractor Farm is open year-round) there are wood-burning fireplaces. Although there's no pool, the beach is around 300 metres away – close enough even for little legs – so the location is among the best on Kea for families with small children. Shops (including a supermarket), cafés and restaurants beside Korassia's harbour are within easy walking distance. The outside world seems delightfully far away here, but for those who need to stay in touch there's free, fast WiFi throughout. To sum up: a serene rural oasis, on the edge of a lively, authentically Greek island village.
