Hotel Review

The mission for owners Jayne & Adam Lillywhite of this B&B townhouse hotel was to provide a comfortable sanctuary in the city, “a home from home.” Guests can help themselves to an honesty bar, there’s fruit available all day, free parking and bicycles to borrow. Rooms are mostly spacious with high ceilings and are simply and neutrally decorated. Large comfortable beds with decent mattresses and soft linen are adorned with textured silk cushions. Being able to park for free and be within walking or cycling distance of the city centre is a boon. It’s also a very quiet cul-de-sac location so unlike some urban hotels you aren’t aware of any background noise or traffic. A generous breakfast is served in a light, airy dining room and caters for most tastes, including gluten and dairy-free diets. Reasonable rates make this a popular spot for regulars.
