“The former cider house of the Buckland Abbey monks, this elegant B&B is a real charmer. Set amidst lovely gardens and featuring just four chic, luxurious rooms and delicous breakfasts with many of the ingredients grown on site. Perfect for a sophisticated rural retreat.”

Hotel review

Awash with history and character, The Cider House captures the eye from the start. Before Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries, it was the site of the Buckland monks' cider making exploits. Set around glorious National Trust land, it's a place where the surroundings play a big role. A whole host of gorgeous flowers and plants run throughout the B&B's gardens and the surrounding area is full of great walking trails for exploring the ancient estate. Inside, the atmosphere is relaxed with elegant rooms and helpful hosts. Couples who are looking for a little more privacy might like to try the hotel's new Shepherds Huts. These boutique cabins are both peaceful and rustic, opening out into the B&B's lovely gardens. A countryside gem.

Cider House Review

A sophisticated bed and breakfast, more like a boutique hotel, set in the building in which the monks of Buckland Abbey made their cider. Surrounded by glorious National Trust land, with free access for guests to Buckland Abbey, it would be hard to find a lovelier setting...
