Hotel Review
The star of this show is the spectacular Camber beach; eight miles of uninterrupted golden sands just a short walk from the hotel. The Gallivant often accommodates photo-shoots, attracted by the beach. The 18 rooms are self-consciously beach orientated with ‘driftwood’ furniture, white painted floors and the broad striped linens and waist-high panelling you might be used to from your cottage in the Hamptons. 1960s telephones add a nostalgic touch for baby-boomers. Two restaurants - the Beach Bistro and the Beach Café - serve the inner man/woman and there are occasional cookery school days, culminating in a feast.
