The W is a bold, brash hotel, confident in its fabulousness and filled with clientele who seem assured of their own. Its trendiness may be seductive, but strip that away and you’re still left with a 5-star hotel that promises stunning views across Bangkok, luxe bathrooms kitted out with Bliss beauty products and a free-standing bathtub, and outstanding facilities that include a 24-hour gym, spa and swimming pool. Small touches, like a complimentary tray of ingredients for your own “woohito” cocktail, means a stay at The W can encourage even the tamest of guests to mirror the rockstar lifestyle of some of its more famous clientele. If one drink isn’t enough, take the party downstairs to WOOBAR, the hotel’s buzzing cocktail bar, or over to The House on Sathorn, an 126-year-old colonial mansion that offers an Asian restaurant, opulent bar and outdoor terrace.
