This historic 19th-century hotel has been restored with no expense spared. Guest rooms boast plush furnishings in velvet, leather, glass and chrome, a theme repeated in the elegant and welcoming common rooms – cosy seating is arranged around animal-print rugs and with eye-catching light installations of glass leaves. Rooms have Nespresso coffee makers, giant flat-screen TVs, complementary mini-bars and beautifully appointed bathrooms in grey and dark wood stocked with toiletries by Swiss brand Ananné. Underground passages and covered walkways link the five-star superior Grand Hotel, four-star superior Villa Silvana and Chalet Belmont, new state-of-the-art spa and The Pavilion, a Belle Époque marvel with a chandeliered banqueting hall. The surrounding landscape provides invigorating skiing or summer hiking and year-round fairytale views. Waldhaus is a plush haven for pleasure-seekers willing to pay for first-rate accommodation and service in a fairytale Swiss setting.
