Built for an Edwardian gentleman in the early 1900s, Watersmeet started life as a hotel as long ago as 1914. The original building has been extended somewhat and an extensive refurbishment and renovation has been undertaken by the present owner since she took over in 2003. The situation is unbeatable, with virtually all the bedrooms boasting fabulous sea views. Decor is tasteful, with seaside themes and tones featuring in the bedrooms. Book one with a balcony so that you can make the most of that view. The restaurant boasts two AA Rosettes and serves classic English fare featuring plenty of locally sourced ingredients from sea and land. For those who want to chill out there is an indoor spa area with steam room and treatments available. For those with more energy, there is awesome surfing, fabulous coastal walks and championship links courses nearby if golf's your thing. An ideal seaside spot, perfect for romantics and families too.
