About Cordoba
Cordoba sits right in the heart of Argentina, below the hills of the Sierras Chicas and besides the wide Suquía River. We’ve selected the best places to stay in Cordoba from which to soak it all in, whether you want to stay in the centre of town, or prefer a charming Estancia in the surrounding countryside.
Capital of Cordoba province, Cordoba city itself is renowned for its university, which is the oldest in Argentina. It’s no wonder then that Cordoba’s nickname is La Docta, or ‘the learned one’.
Examples to the city’s rich history are littered throughout its picturesque and prestigious architecture. Most notably perhaps is the Jesuit Block, a stunning set of buildings that have earnt UNESCO World Heritage status.
And if it’s a lively night life you’re after, look no further! Being a university city it’s hardly surprising that there are plenty of spots to keep you entertained throughout the night. Don’t forget though that universities have holidays, and in these holidays Cordoba feels a whole lot quieter.
Temperatures and rainfall are both highest between November to March. April to October are drier and temperatures a little cooler, ranging between high and low teens celcius.
