Best Hotels in Saint Gilles
While tourists don't come to Brussels to see the sights of Saint Gilles, this beautiful Art Noveau area of the city makes for a wonderful place to base yourself (it's about a 15 minute walk from the centre) and is fast becoming a favourite of people visiting Brussels. Not only is it home to great art (some of the best modern art galleries in Brussels are located in Saint Gilles), but you can also expect to find plenty of cool bars and restaurants and breweries, as well as grand historic churches. Naturally, the best hotels in Saint Gilles are all pretty cool and stylish, like the area itself. Some are so cool they're used by film crews; others are shabby-chic hostel-like stays perfect for the young; but you'll also find funky, whimsical hotels with family rooms.
For the young
- Jam Hotel is an effortlessly cool, hip young hotel with easy access to the centre of town. Not only is there a tram-stop nearby, but the hotel provides free bikes to explore the city. It's one for the young, with its shabby-chic rooms, seasonal rooftop pool and bar, and Japanese style Atsukan Experience.
For something stylish
- Manos Premier is a sophisticated and stylish hotel just off the equally fashionable Avenue Louise — so stylish, in fact, that it's often used by film crews! It's within walking distance of the city centre, plus it features a fabulous French restaurant and terrace, garden and pampering spa.
For families
- Vintage Hotel is on the funky property, a retro-styled, laid-back hotel just off the Avenue Louise with spacious and comfortable family rooms and '60s-style murals on the walls. It's only a 20-minute walk from the historic centre, and it's also near the districts of Ixelles and Marolles. Families should book a Dreamy room, which can sleep up to four.
