Hotel Review

Villa La Angostura is a charming village resort on the banks of the Nahuel Huapi Lake in the Argentine Patagonia. The area is known for its Alpine-style buildings, apt for the beautiful mountain setting. The region is popular for active holidaymakers, with a number of chairlifts in the area for skiing, plus hiking trails through the beautiful Los Arrayanes National Park. Aldea Bonita means 'pretty village', and this hotel does achieve a charming rural feel; the traditional wooden facade gives way to a series of well-appointed guestrooms, many with original heritage details. There are lots of options for accommodating children, making the hotel a favourite with families. Book a luxury suite for a cosy private fireplace. There is a classic Patagonian-style sitting room with an open hearth and large windows looking out onto the countryside. The hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool which is great for summer; in winter you can warm up in the sleek sauna or jump into the hot tub. There is no restaurant but the resto-bar dishes up a hearty breakfast and serves drinks in the evening. The hotel offers a range of activities, most of which are family-friendly; try kayaking on Lake Nahuel Huapi or go line-fishing with a hotel guide. Older children love the rock-climbing activities in the nearby national parks. Overall, this hotel makes for a well-thought-out rural getaway with all the creature comforts you need, plus a few added luxuries.
