Hotel Review
This enchanting place will delight those seeking character, unique individuality and personality. More eccentric private residence than boutique hotel, it’s a maximalist’s slice of heaven. The Italian owner (a designer) has thrown together beautiful antique lamps, decorative textiles, upholstered gilt chairs and beds, embroidered cushions, old black & white framed prints and quirky finds throughout the higgledy-piggledy layout - collections of shells, iconic novels by Paul Bowles; Agatha Christie et al, cigarette holders and wall sconces. A secret, wild garden leads down through lush vegetation sprouting ferns, mimosa, acanthus, fig trees and philodendrons to a kidney-shaped pool. Many a quiet spot can be found in one of the delightful nooks, secluded patios, salons and breezy Atlantic-facing terrace with potted succulent plants and a friendly tortoise. Breakfast is a highlight - delicious pastries with homemade date jam, chocolate nut butter and fresh orange juice. It’s the kind of place where you could happily while away a few days blissfully uninterrupted.
