Hotel review

Harbour Island is something of an in-the-know destination in The Bahamas; pink-sand beaches line the shores, while in the quaint town of Dunmore, pastel-coloured houses rub shoulders with relaxed live music venues and friendly bars. Bahama House blends perfectly with the town, offering a laid-back atmosphere with high-end facilities. The lodge is made up of a collection of plantation-era properties; the main building dates back to the 1800s and houses three ensuite bedrooms, with four other ensuites in the adjacent annexe building. There are a further four rooms spread across two private cottages, perfect for a family or a couple who like to have extra living space. These cottages have a bright and airy shared lounge area. The facilities are the highlight here, with an outdoor freshwater pool and adjoining jet tub offering ultimate relaxation without having to leave the lodge. Reservations include a lobster and avocado eggs Benedict breakfast, and the chef will happily prepare a luxury picnic basket for excursions. Be sure to explore the additional activities on offer, with great snorkelling, diving and sailing packages available. A chic, stylish island getaway.
