If you’re looking to stay on the Kentish coast, Botany Bay Hotel certainly ticks all the boxes. The hotel is right by the sea, and the blue flag beach – life-guarded in summer months – couldn’t be closer. Popular with swimmers and fossil-hunters alike, the sandy beach is surrounded by impressive chalk cliffs. The huge and comfortable family bedrooms are ideal for those travelling with children, while other rooms have balconies and dogs are welcome at the hotel too. The popular towns of Margate and Broadstairs are both within easy access, but the hotel itself occupies a quieter spot, ideal for a quiet and relaxing stay. There’s a cosy bar and dining room where guests can unwind, as well as a sunny terrace for warmer days. The menus, both at breakfast and dinner, offer a good choice and the restaurant is also popular with locals. Head out of the hotel and straight onto the coastal path which leads to further beaches in each direction.
