“Late Victorian warehouse meets a style guru and restaurateur and becomes a hotspot in Shoreditch. Known for its rooftop garden, local bakery and individually designed rooms this is a perfect London base. Refined and modern A la carte menu with fantastic wine menu to match.”

Hotel review

A converted Victorian printworks in happening Shoreditch is the setting for Terence Conran’s acclaimed project, a joint venture with his wife Vicki and writer Peter Prescott, which opened its doors in 2009. It exudes style from the French cellar restaurant with its retro bar, exposed brickwork and theatrical open kitchen, to the individual bedrooms, each themed on a different designer (among them, Le Corbusier and Heath Robinson). Immaculate attention to detail includes handmade Savoir beds and superb sound-proofing. Go for a suite and enjoy your own terrace. Have breakfast in the congenial Albion café-cum-bakery (open 8am to 11pm) and, in summer, dine on the rooftop (which hums at weekend lunchtimes) with the whole City on display.
