Off the beaten track and with views over a lagoon, the hotel bears the name of its British owner Nick Buckingham, who presides with charm and panache. The grounds are well laid out and remarkably mature given their recent creation. The separate guest lodges are large, cool and airy, in minimalist, but not too austere, style; the food is excellent and the staff courteous. There’s a fine view above the trees to the lagoon, and the beach, a short walk down a rutted lane, is stunning and never ending, though said to be dangerous for swimmers. The hotel has a pool.
