“An impressive estate offering just three rooms, ideal for a quiet weekend away. Unsurprisingly spacious, the rooms are also tastefully styled with just the right amount of antiques, softly patterned wallpaper and with spectacular views. Breakfasts are served in style in the elegant dining room.”

Hotel Review

Acquired by the current owner’s parents in 1960, 13 of the 19 acres of land were formerly used as a successful berry fruit farm. Today it is part B&B and part-family home to Edward Simpson, his wife Helen and their two daughters. Offering three spacious, well appointed en-suite rooms - two doubles and one family room - all overlook the formal gardens with topiaried hedges and idyllic Herefordshire countryside beyond. With high ceilings, plenty of natural light streaming through the vast shuttered windows, freestanding baths and rain showers, comfortable beds, soft linen and chunky towels - staying in this historic house feels special. Reached by a sweeping driveway, the building which blends Norman, Medieval, Regency, Victorian and Edwardian architectural periods, stands in an elevated position in a beautiful, peaceful setting close to Leominster. The interior with its impressive C14th Great Hall and vast entertaining spaces, complete with two bars and extensive grounds, lends itself perfectly to private weddings and events. Guests are treated to a personal service - informal and super friendly - by the delightful hosts, who offer guided tours and are on hand to advise where to have dinner and where to go during the day. No surprise that this becomes a popular hideaway base for speakers at the annual Hay Festival. Breakfast is a wonderful experience in the dining room where tea and coffee are offered in china cups and Helen whips up a delicious cooked breakfast. All produce is sourced locally with a choice of artisan breads and homemade jams.

Burton Court

A splendid country house b&b, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and overlooking Herefordshire countryside. The family-run business offers two huge, luxurious rooms with super king-size beds, equally spacious private bathrooms and hi-tech facilities.
