Hotel Review

Tucked away down a delightfully narrow, winding street, the Campo Regio is small and impeccably stylish. While some of its six attractive bedrooms are more luxurious than others, all are elegant, spacious and comfortable. Standing out from the rest, room number five is a luxurious treat, with its four-poster bed, antique furniture and spectacular views of central Siena. The handsome breakfast room enjoys the same breathtaking views and doubles as a lounge for drinks later in the day.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? People love staying at our hotel for 3 main reasons. First, we are one of the few, if not the only, historical, boutique hotels located in downtown Siena. This gives our guests the opportunity to relive the history and magic of Siena, which is itself a World Heritage Site. Second, we offer simple elegance and personalized service to all of our guests. Each of our rooms houses a different decòr and antique furnishings. Our breakfast buffet is sumptuous, featuring local specialities along with fresh-fruit, bread, and pastries delivered daily. We enjoy meeting and talking with our guests face-to-face, as well as catering to all their special needs and requests. All guests receive a welcome drink upon arrival. It's all part of the charm that a small hotel such as ours can offer over the rest. Third, our salon and terrace are simply spectacular and are well-liked by all those who come to visit us. From our private terrace, our guests have an expansive view of Siena's 14th century Duomo and the surrounding town. Guests often bring back a light lunch or a bottle of wine to enjoy from our terrace; a practice we encourage.

What is there to do in the area or on site? Siena offers many a number of tours and activities for our guests to enjoy during their stay. One can head to the world-famous Piazza del Campo to visit the City Hall Museum or go to see the Duomo Musuem Complex featuring the Museum of Santa Maria della Scala, each housing masterpieces of Siennese Gothic art. Walking tours of the city can be arranged to admire Siena's still-preserved late-medieval architecture. Many of our guests take day trips to visit the lovely Tuscan hilltowns surrounding Siena such as Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Volterra, the Chianti Castles, or the Val D'Orcia -- a picturesque valley so wonderful, it's a World Heritage Site. There are also numerous options for food and wine lovers alike. Cooking classes and wine tastings can be arranged featuring world-famous Tuscan cuisine and wine from the surrounding Chianti, Brunello, and Montepulciano regions. For the more adventurous traveller, there are horseback riding tours, cycling tours, hot-air balloon rides, and Vespa tours available. And who can forget Siena's all-important horse race “Il Palio” on July the 2nd and August the 16th. Here, the city is in full bloom with exhilarating trial runs, medieval pageantry and processions, and hearty Contrada dinners.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? Our breakfast buffet is divided into three main sections. The breads and cereals section offers a wide choice of toast with jam or other spreads; bread, pastries, and cakes delivered fresh daily; as well as many cereals. The cold cuts and cheeses section features the finest local, cured ham and salamis together with various, aged cheeses from the region. And, finally, our fruit section features fresh-fruit delivered daily including pineapple, melon, and seasonal varieties. To drink, we offer four different types of juices as well as coffee or espresso made how you like it.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Although we don't offer lunch or dinner service on the premises, we are fortunate that Siena rests at the epicenter of fine, Tuscan cuisine. Guests can choose from a number of fine-dining restauraunts, wine bars, and osterias that abound in the city's downtown. If not, have us order in for you, and enjoy a catered dinner from our lovely terrace overlooking the Duomo. We can also organize catered events in our lounge for small groups.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our Deluxe Double Room Camporegio 5 is without a doubt the most popular room in our hotel as well as our most important. This spacious room has its own sitting area, canopied king-size bed, and, most imporantly, its own private terrace overlooking the Duomo and the city down below. Our Superior Double Room Camporegio 6 is also quite popular since it's unlike any room you'll find in another hotel. It too has its own sitting room with a vaulted, white-brick, cantina-style ceiling and a window looking out on the Duomo. The king-sized bed rests beneath characteristic wooden traves and together with the sitting area makes the room truly unique. Of our standard double rooms, Sapienza 2 is our most popular since it is closest to our lounge area and houses a lovely, Art Decò decòr.
