Hotel review

Beautifully designed boutique rooms in this hotel are something special. Many feature four poster beds, terraces and views. The best room is the Pomp Adour with wooden panelling and chandeliers. Plenty to keep the whole family occupied here, with a tennis court on site, generously sized pool, and spa with an abundance of reasonably priced treatments. The cookery courses in the hotel kitchen are not to be missed. They cater for all abilities, but the molecular cooking and Easter menu classes are excellent. This is 5% luxury, but with no stuffiness or formality which can sometimes come along too. Get lost in the woods and return for a very special dinner with locally sourced produce. Delightful.
