Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey
Set within a patchwork of vines in Sauternes is this honey-coloured château, whose gatehouse and wall towers date back to the 13th century. The château’s wines were bought by Thomas Jefferson on his travels in Bordeaux in 1788, and now Lafaurie-Peyraguey has opened as a luxury hotel and gastronomic restaurant.
