Hotel Review

A first class small boutique hotel tucked away in a blissfully peaceful Mani village. The property dates from the 11th century, but has been lovingly restored and is now extremely comfortable. The seven bedrooms feature antique Italian furnishings, exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and luxury trappings including a large very comfortable bed with Guy Laroche linens. There is a spacious and sheltered terrace for a quiet drink or dining under the stars. Dinners are delicious and favour traditional dishes created from the freshest, local produce. Plus there's an outstanding Greek wine list (the ones they don't export because they are too nice). Citta dei Nicliani is a real find, and is managed by dedicated family owners who actually care. Well worth the trek south!
