“A historic property in the heart of a quaint village. Rooms are modern with indulgent bathrooms - think rain showers and large free standing baths. Open fireplaces give a cosy feel. Relaxed dining areas serve food inspired by local produce. The six room spa is excellent. The perfect country escape.”

Hotel review

Overlooking the achingly pretty high street of Chipping Camden, this Regency-era hotel is stuffed with mod cons – even the communal loos have flatscreen TVs. A grand spiral staircase whisks guests up to accommodation with giant beds and Bang & Olufsen TVs, and each room has unique décor – the battered leather chairs in ours gave it a gents’ club feel. Under new management, staff are energetic and helpful. Downstairs is a maze of public rooms, including a modern bistro serving first-rate fare and a part-time fine dining restaurant and function room. For those seeking romance or privacy, the hotel stretches back to include two acres of well-groomed gardens with the cottage accommodation that includes two swanky suites with private hot tubs as well as a small adults-only spa with a hammam and hydrotherapy pool – the perfect place to soothe away the aches brought about by extensive Cotswolds sight-seeing.

Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? We are situated in arguably one of the prettiest areas in Britain with stunning scenery, a wealth of history and many local attractions to see. There are many local walks and breath-taking views. The hotel is conveniently located off the main square of the chocolate box town of Chipping Campden which excludes charm in both winter and summer. Cotswold House Hotel and Spa offers an escape from the fast pace of everyday life and is a place where guests can truly immerse themselves in tranquillity with the spa adding the ultimate touch in relaxation. What is there to do in the area? Plenty! From historic locations to visit like the Broadway Tower to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Shakespearean house in nearby Stratford. The town itself boasts of an eclectic mix of local boutique and artisan shops and plenty of culture, arts and crafts shops and studios to browse through. This is also a walkers paradise for all seasons with short and longer walks to choose from starting right from the front door of the hotel. What kind of breakfast do you offer? From Full English to a healthy buffet. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We are open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Al fresco dining is also available during warmer weather in spring and summer on our terrace which is tucked away amongst our 2 acres of stunning gardens at the back. There are lots of other places to dine locally – Michael’s Mediterranean restaurant is always popular as is Caminetto’s an Italian family run restaurant that has been on the High Street for many years. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Hot Tub Rooms and Suites – Hot tub because you have the luxury of an outdoor hot tub in the privacy of your own little garden which makes for a uniquely relaxing or romantic break or both! Suites because they offer opulence, comfort and a lot of living space plus huge, egg-shaped limestone bathtubs big enough for two! What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Some of our rooms can accommodate extra folding beds for children. We offer a children’s menu in the restaurant. The Spa is over 18s only however there are lots of attractions locally to entertain the little ones, including Adan Henson’s Farm Park and Cotswold Wildlife Park. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Cotswold House Hotel and Spa is a truly relaxing venue and suits all occasions from a romantic and indulgent break away to a grand wedding. We offer great food, warm and attentive service and a spa that is small but perfectly formed with superb range of treatments. This is the ultimate country get away.
