Nestled behind stretches of pasturage and woodland, sat astride rolling green pasturage and meadows stands the Domaine de Bernou, a 300-year-old country mansion. Family-ran, it not only hosts guests from all over the world, but also a great variety of horses, which guests can see munching on hay from the windows of their room. Speaking of which, the views are spectacular: on cloudless days you can see the Pyrenees scrape the hazy-blue sky. The rooms themselves are traditionally decorated, in keeping with the heritage of the chateau, with antiques scattered about the place. Each room comes with a either a bath or shower, complete with a hairdryer, towels and toiletries. While breakfast comes included, there is no restaurant as such, so guests are required to request dinner at the table d'hote. While Jean Pascal, your host, can direct you to a number of nearby restaurants, we at Hotel Guru recommend you stop off at Coffee-Kitchen Quarter in Agen, only 7 miles away, a restaurant particularly suited to vegetarians, serving both local and international cuisine, with unpretentious and wildly delicious gourmet burgers. You won't find yourself bored in this wonderful house: ask Jean Pascal to direct you to the prehistoric caves that lie on the house's property, a well-kept hidden secret.
