A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, the central region of the Loire Valley has long drawn visitors from across the world, attracted by the beautiful châteaux, verdant landscapes and fantastic wines. With so much to see along the river, it's important to have a base where you can rest and relax, as well as enjoying the best the region has to offer in views, style and, of course, wine. What sets Domaine de la Soucherie apart from other guesthouses is the superb quality of the facilities and carefully thought-through design. In the guesthouse Maison des Amis, the rooms are tastefully modern, with a touch of traditional decor. The Savennieres room on the ground floor has an eighteenth-century feel, with a plush, velvet-upholstered chair and convex mirrors above the bed. Across in the Maison des Vignes, the guest cottage offers an elegant location for a family stay. The large patio window in the Marie-Louise Room makes it bright and airy and offers a direct view of the beautiful vineyard outside. The exposed beams, chaise lounge and throws in the Marthe and Romane rooms retain the country feel of the property, while multiple windows and a skylight keep a fresh feel. The estate produces its own wine which you can sample at the honesty bar, and the hosts will be happy to talk you through the local wine tasting and cultural tours on offer.
