As you ascend into the uplands of Belize the landscape changes from dense tropical vegetation to pine forest, and the temperature cools as you enter this beautiful reserve of rivers, pools and waterfalls. 'Hidden Valley' is in an amazing location at 2000 feet above sea level (the altitude provides coolness and a lack of mosquitoes over the plain below) in the heart of a private 7000 acre estate which itself is part of the 100,000 acre Mountain Pine Ridge nature reserve. Hidden Valley Inn has unique and exclusive access to over 90 miles of well marked hiking trails through brush & forest to spectacular lookouts. Tramp over rustic wooden walkways & bridges to waterfalls and inviting swimming spots with crystal clear water. You can drive around or walk alone, or be accompanied by one of the many guides who can give you a more detailed explanation of the landscape, the flora & fauna. Dining is in the lovely Lodge which has been delightfully converted from a former estate owner's residence - there is still a colonial plantation feel about the place. Smoky fires and wood panelled walls create the ambience of an old hunting lodge. Swimming pool & Yoga platforms are close by, plus there's a hot tub for some relaxation and star gazing after a day in the jungle. Open fires in the lodge bedrooms create a wonderful warm & cozy atmosphere with baskets of logs and kindling provided at your front door on a daily basis. Hidden Valley is an all encompassing experience - it's certainly not somewhere to simply arrive and flop, that would be missing the point entirely!
