The best Mallorca hotels

The second is the sensitively restored 16th-century palace belonging to the Palou de Comasema dynasty who later donated part of the building to a religious order of nuns. Among the sandstone arches, original black-and-white floors and sloping-beam ceilings are charming historical quirks: the marble sink in the stables-turned-basement spa, the framed 19th-century newspapers found beneath floral wallpaper, the occasional soft rumble of the sisters’ piano.

Hotel Glòria de Sant Jaume

Chic and elegant five-star Hotel Glòria de Sant Jaume is a grand 16th-century mansion in Palma’s old town, sensitively refurbished and retaining many original historic features. It feels like a blissfully relaxed haven, yet is just a five-minute stroll from all the town's major sights and shops.
