Hotel accommodation can be tricky to find in Boston so staying in Cambridge, home of Harvard University is a brilliant best-of-both-worlds alternative – you can have a scenic walk along the iconic Charles River into downtown Boston, or buy yourself a Charlie Card and hop on any bus or take the famous ‘T’ (tram). You are surrounded by all the lovely Harvard colleges and the area has a wonderfully lively and vibrant neighbourhood feel. The Hotel Veritas boldly takes its name from the Harvard University motto (truth), and is a gem. Albeit newly built, it is a classic shingle-style Victorian New England mansion house with bay windows and an upstairs porch. There are only 30 bedrooms and the staff are quite the most friendly and helpful team you could ask for. The interior is of the silver/taupe/stone variety, but it feels groovy, contemporary and chic. It is a delight to arrive off your flight late at night and find a fire burning in the lobby, and cheery face at the reception desk. There is no restaurant or cafe at the hotel, but you can make your own (delicious) Nespresso coffee at any time of the day or night and help yourself to complimentary fruit juices. Ines Rosales’ famous Spanish breakfast tortas are left out in a bowl each morning, but if you want the Full American nip over the road to Joe’s diner (all vinyl and chrome and super-sized portions) or walk down the street to trendy Tory Row.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? 1. Service - our staff and service levels are extremely personalized. Our concierge remember most of our repeat guests and are trained to help you with whatever you need. 2. Location - we are only 5 minutes from Harvard Square and 10 minutes from MIT 3. Exclusivity - we have a small hotel that is not cluttered tons of guests. We've had celebrities stay with us countless times for this reason. What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer a spanish torta in the mornings as a snack and we have Nespresso coffee and STASH teas available 24 hours a day, complimentary. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We don't have a restaurant but can easily recommend places to go. Which are your most popular room types, and why? The majority of our rooms are Queen rooms but I would say that our guests really enjoy our Kings because they are larger
