Hotel review

This boutique hotel is a real gem, just a few miles from the dunes. The building was originally built to treat and transport the water from Lake Cazaux to the town, and many of the original features remain. The pool is fashioned from the old reservoir and subtly placed below ground level in the garden. Sophisticated vintage pool loungers make all the difference. 12 rooms are large and full of light; each has a rocking chair on the balcony for reading or moon-gazing. The hotel restaurant is consistently good, and a firm favourite of the area. It's about ten minutes walk from hotel to the town centre but feels utterly peaceful and much more remote than it is. Worth exploring the dunes nearby.
