Why do people love staying in your hotel? People love staying at Kipling Camp because of its friendly, peaceful atmosphere and idyllic surroundings. The Camp’s comfortable cottages, where attention is given to every detail, are set in acres of unspoilt jungle. A large number of our guests are “repeats”, who return again and again. What is there to do in the area or on site? Guests can go on safari in the neighbouring Kanha National Park, which is considered to be one of the best places in the world to see wild tigers. They can also spend time with our beloved elephant Tara and bathe her in the river. Bird watching and visits to the neighbouring villages are other popular activities, while some guests prefer to simply relax in one of the hammocks and charpoys, or have a luxurious long massage. In the evenings there are wildlife film shows, stories around a campfire or a tribal dance performance. A day excursion can also be organised to explore three beautiful 17th century forts and climb the mysterious black mountain. What kind of breakfast do you offer? We love our traditional breakfasts at Kipling Camp! Fruit juice, hot porridge, cereal, eggs of all sorts (spicy scrambled eggs are a favourite) and bacon are served, with whole-wheat toast and delicious fresh ground coffee. Indian breakfasts with parathas and curd are also popular. Guests who are going on safari into the park are served a picnic breakfast with fresh coffee. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We serve Indian and Continental food and all meals are included in the tariff. Meals at Kipling Camp, which are served in different locations around the Camp, are part of the experience! There are no significant restaurants nearby. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Every cottage has a veranda looking out into the jungle and all the rooms have en suite bathrooms. Some have double beds and others twin beds, and every room is individually decorated. Our most popular accommodation is the Private Cottage, which has a sitting room, two bathrooms and a lovely patio overlooking the wildlife waterhole. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Families with children are especially welcome at Kipling Camp and we can easily fit extra beds in the rooms. We help young people to explore nature and learn about wildlife in the National Park and around the Camp. They can bathe Tara our elephant, learn how to put up wildlife camera traps, visit the village school and learn about life in an Indian village. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Kipling Camp in the jungles of Central India offers you a truly memorable experience in one of the most unspoilt places in the world.
