Hotel Review

With views over the town of Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan, La Yegua Loca is a small, charming hotel with a terrific restaurant. A gaucho theme runs throughout the comfortable hotel with the bedrooms, all individual in style, named after the different trades and traditions found across Patagonia from The Coachman to The Stable. Thoughtful, quirky details are in evidence throughout the property, from the themed room keys to the handmade woollen slippers in bedrooms and the shop full of local produce. Many of the bedrooms have balconies which overlook the town or across the water towards remote Tierra del Fuego. The hotel's rooftop restaurant, with its cosy heated conservatory, is a popular spot with locals and tourists alike and offers delciious delicacies such as Magellanic king crab and seafood empanadas, washed down with a Chilean wine. An ideal starting point for a holiday exploring Chilean Patagonia and its national parks.
