Limeni village in the southern peninsular of Mani is a tiny, picturesque harbour village with a smattering of chichi restaurants and bars. Above the glinting lights of this somewhat remote, yet romantic location, surrounded by wild, raw beauty, is Limeni Village Hotel. Guests stay in one of 38 individual stone villas, each with a balcony overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Messiniakos. There’s a pool with a bar serving snacks until dusk. Sunsets are a big draw as the rooftop bar and glass fronted restaurant offer panoramic views out to sea. The Bond-style electronic sliding roof of the restaurant allows for dining under the stars. An extensive menu fuses Greek stalwarts with Mediterranean flavours - dishes that can also be delivered direct to your room by golf buggy. The hotel caters for couples and groups however the steep pathways between the villas and the main building may not be suitable for those with young children or people with walking difficulties. A peaceful place to unwind and dream surrounded by dramatic landscape.
