Why do people love staying in your hotel? London Bridge Hotel offers a glimpse into London’s past whilst providing guests the best in modern hospitality. Located in the historic, thriving borough of Southwark, the area is one of London’s emerging destinations, with the development of The Shard and the London Bridge Quarter. Guests enjoy our warm, friendly service, contemporary interiors and location amongst an array of museums, restaurants and cultural attractions – we are perfectly placed for both the business and leisure traveller, next to London Bridge Station.
What is there to do in the area or on site? London Bridge Hotel is ideally located for exploring all that London’s trendy South Bank has to offer – the area referred to nowadays as ‘City South’, filled with shops, restaurants and pubs. Many of London’s best attractions are on the hotel’s doorstep – The Shard London, HMS Belfast, Shakespeare's Globe, Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern, The London Eye, Tower of London, Museum of London, Bermondsey Antique Market, O2 Arena, Clink Prison and Borough Market, to name a few! Of course London Bridge Station, a transport hub, gives guests easy access to all of London, via over-ground and underground lines. There is always a buzz of activity in the area, a perfect spot for visitors to experience the best of London – old and new.
What kind of breakfast do you offer? A full buffet breakfast with all the trimmings, is available from our modern British Londinium Restaurant from 7am – 10am and 7.30am to 11.00am on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Alternatively, Quarter Bar & Lounge offers a separate, à la carte menu, with English favourites such as sausage sandwiches or Eggs Benedict.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We have two dining options – contemporary Londinium Restaurant and chic Quarter Bar & Lounge. Londinium, named after the area’s Roman history, is located on the lower ground level of the hotel; the space features red suede furnishings and crisp white linen. Foodies can enjoy everything from fillet of beef with fondant wedges and tomato jam, to vegetarian options such as Gnocchi with blue cheese and savoy cabbage. Alternatively, Quarter Bar & Lounge offers guests a relaxed and comfortable spot, with a contemporary atmosphere, for breakfast lunch or dinner. Serving social food ideal amongst friends or business associates, menu choices range from internationally themed platters, to small tapas style dishes. Perennial favourites, such as cakes, pastries and sandwiches are also available, not forgetting the indulgent afternoon tea! Come cocktail hour, mixologists create everything from the classic favourites to seasonal recipes, inspired by nearby Borough Market. A great place to eat locally is the historic George Inn, London’s only surviving galleried coaching inn, visited by the likes of Shakespeare and Dickens, boasting a great classic English menu, right by London Bridge itself.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? We find the deluxe rooms our most popular, they are very spacious with a king sized bed, sofa bed and walk in closet and are also equipped with a DVD-player and iPod docking station. The higher floors are a particular favourite, providing guests with that essential view across the rooftops of London. We include White Company toiletries, a minibar and a choice of pillow in all our rooms along with complimentary Fitness First Health Club access and complimentary Wifi.
