Why do your guests love staying with you? We are situated in the heart of a traditional Provençal village. No need to take your car, everything is walking distance. But despite being in the village centre, the estate offers 3 hectares of unspoilled nature, a place to relax and disconnect.
What is there to do in the area? Cotignac has a specific cliff of 80m high x 400m long with troglodyte homes. This is a « do not miss »! A quirky Tuktuk provide a 45 min guided tour. Craftshops, restaurants, art galleries are available in the village. Chill out with inroom massages, meditation, yoga class and other well being activities. Every Tuesday morning, there's a beautiful local market. Discover the rich history of Cotignac with Notre Dame de Grace church & St Joseph convent. In the nearby village of Sillans la Cascade there's an incredible turquoise waterfall; Canoe & Paddle are available in Correns; hiking & cycling at the Bessillon; every Sunday morning you can visit Salernes market. You can also discover the Gorges du Verdon on an electric boat (1h drive), discover lavender fields in Plateau de Valensole (1h drive), or in winter truffle hunting in close village Aups….. and much more !
What kind of breakfast do you offer? Continental
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend any good places to eat locally? We have our own restaurant, open from Friday to Tuesday for lunch and dinner: Jardin Secret. In June 2024, we'll also be opening a Bistrot on the estate. But there are plenty of other restaurants in town, such as Picotte or L'Union.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? Cassole category, 25sqm with beautiful terraces. Those are our basic rooms but are really comfortable and bright.
What facilities are there for children, and can you add extra beds to your rooms? We can add extra beds in the following categories: Suite Sarrasine, Suite Trompine and Suite Famille. We can add a Tipi in the rooms and a treasure hunt is available to discover the gardens.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? You are not in France anymore, you are in Provence ! Experience the slow life, smell the fragrance of the lavender & the aromatic plants, feel the vibration of the cicadas… Lou Calen is about discoveries and reconnection to yourself. A time to take time.
