“Stylish modernity close to the old port. This Philippe Starck designed Marseille hotel offers industrial-meets-kitsch style and caters for a trendy crowd. Good for solo travellers, couples and families who like a buzzy atmosphere in minimalist surroundings. Excellent value.”

Hotel review

This establishment attracts a young, diverse crowd. The contemporary, industrial-style dining area is something of a hip hub for locals and visitors alike with its friendly staff, oversized pendant lights, bench and designer seating and bar adorned with brightly coloured inflatable plastic pool toys. This childlike humour is extended throughout the hotel as gimmicky masks of Superman, Darth Vader and other celluloid superheroes decorate the walls. Starck by name, stark by nature, rooms are cube-like and minimalist with bare concrete walls and etched vinyl flooring. A chrome-framed bed with an illuminated opaque headboard conceals a sleek white desk. Guests have use of a large wall-mounted iMac along with a selection of the aforementioned face masks if they feel the desire to morph into a different character. In short, it’s a functional hotel ideal for an overnighter or two.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Apart from all the services, they look for an experience. They want to feel comfortable and protected. They want a bit of happiness. That’s what Philippe Starck’s design and our intangible human touch brings to the guest experience. Our staff love Mama and Mama loves them. This reflects in their attitude with our guests. They are always real and nice and that is something our guests come back for. What kind of breakfast do you offer? It’s a buffet, continental and american breakfast Do you offer other meals? Lunch, diner, brunch What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Only Large Mama rooms can accommodate one baby cot for 15 €/night for a baby under 3 years. Mama Loves Families, so it has designed a comfortable family room (21 to 27 m²) with a 27" iMac with TV, radio, Airplay, Skype, internet and free WiFi access and on-demand movies and a minibar. There's no problem if the kids squabble, they have the space to play while you relax as a couple in this bed which is so comfortable you'll never want to leave. There is also a special kids menu, a babyfoot and some gadgets for children What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Mama loves you, Mama wants you
