Melitsina Village Hotel

Perched near a pristine sandy beach with water clear as glass, among olive groves and lush, grassy hilltops lies the Militsina, a stylish seaside boutique hotel. With a jaw-dropping panoramic view of the Bay of Kardamili, it has it all: an in-house cafe serving everything from cocktails to continental buffet breakfasts, Crossfit training facilities facing the sea and a secluded beach that's perfect for snorkelling. From the outside, the hotel complex looks ineffectually Greek, with traditional stone buildings but inside, the studios and apartments have spacious and cosy, with whitewashed wood panelling, cool tiling and are coloured with dulcet tones of sky-blue and cream, and all have access to a private terrace or veranda with spectacular views of the big blue sea. All rooms are air-conditioned and have mosquito netting on the windows, and are fitted with fully-equipped kitchenettes (from coffee machines to fridges), satellite TV and a safe. The Suite Apartments come with a separate dining area, a furnished veranda and two double bedrooms. The Junior and Superior Apartments, amazingly spacious and supplied with en-suite bathrooms, come with complimentary wifi. The surrounding area is scattered with abandoned Byzantine towers, churches and hill villages, and hiking tours are regularly organised by the hotel. The old fortified town of Mistra, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a small hike away and is well worth seeing.
