See What They Say
Why do people love staying in your hotel? People love the house for its warm atmosphere and detail...they love the rooms that are very spacious and confortable...they love the small things we do for them...our friendly and caring attention and i guess the feeling of being at home away from home...! we try to make people feel at ease!
What is there to do in the area? Alentejo is full of history..., There are many historical / medieval villages to visit...museums- churchs. Good restaurants close by, low priced and medium priced ones as well – very good regional food and great wines! Great area for wallking on foot or bikes right through the vinyards, or they can simply rest by the pool or in one of the many exterior seating areas the garden offers and listen to nature and time go by... In spring the country is magical...! flower beds of every color covers what in the summer is dry soil..Fall /winter is still very nice as the wheather is not too cold ...Oct. is a wonderfull month!
What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer a very good home made continental breakfast...good local breads...homemade compots...fresh orange juice always...cakes and plenty fruit...local cheeses, cold meets, yogurts coffee and tea...some treats which we try to vary so as its not boring for the ones that are staying longer...if guests want we also offer eggs.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? In Summer we can serve light meals...salads, different sandwiches, quiches etc. We don't offer dinner as there are so many good places to eat around that are well worth trying and have a list of all the ones we think are better.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? The suites are very popular...they are big and airy...although our double rooms are big as well...two of them 28 meters and one smaller one 22 meters.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Monte da Fornalha is a special seductive hidden country retreat, that offers unpretentious service and is the perfect place to unwind away from the hectic evereday life. The house is tastefully decorated and full of details. The whole living areas is the house library, as there are books and magazines spreaded everywhere for the our guests enjoyment. A lovely country garden with peacefull sounds of water falls and lots to discover.
