Nobu opened this outpost of its hotel operations in January 2023, so it's a relative newcomer to Marrakech's increasingly crowded five star hospitatlity scene. However it's certainly come with the intent to compete! First things first, you'll be greeted by your uniform-clad chauffeur at the airport who will whisk you the short 15 minute drive to the hotel. And here you enter the world of luxury according to Nobu. It's a stunning mash up of Zen oriental vibes with muted colours and understated style, beautifully complemented by Moroccan traditional craftmanship, which can be seen throughout the communal areas in the intricate plasterwork designs and the gorgeous lamps. It's a fascinating building because what looks like a modern piece of circular architecture on the outside feels like an intimate riad inside with its plant filled spaces and atrium. The rooms are as luxurious as you'd expect from a property of this calibre and each has a private balcony with either city or Atlas Mountain views (perfect for morning coffees or sundowners — depending on which way your room is facing!). Marble bathrooms feature either walk-in showers or baths (some with both) and all come with Nuxe toiletries. But many who book a Nobu hotel are really here because they want to sample the legendary food, and you won't be disappointed. Their signature style is embodied in the Omakase tasting menu, which should not be missed. It provides course after course of sheer excellence with stand outs of miso soup, wagyu beef and honey glazed cod. For more casual dining and a very chilled vibe head up to the Rooftop Garden where you can find not only delicious sushi, but also a great range of salads, pizzas and the like — not to mention the superb cocktails. The rooftop is also where you'll find the amazing circular outdoor pool, surrounded by loungers. It's a genius design because not only can you follow the sun round all day, but you can enjoy fabulous 360° views at the same time! The other stand-out feature at Nobu is the subterranean Pearl Spa. It's an oasis of calm where you can experience either signature Nobu treatments or enjoy a traditional Moroccan hammam (everyone should experience one of these!), plus there's a 25m indoor pool and relaxation area. Last but not least, it's worth mentioning the helpful and smiley staff who will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is one of the best you'll have! Anyone looking for a luxury Marrakech stay with all the trimmings — superb dining, top notch facilities and easy access to the sights — will be very happy indeed.
