The Okay Boutique Hotel is surreptitiously located down a quiet alley behind the National Gallery and the Royal Palace. This not only makes exploring Cambodia’s capital on foot extremely easy (you could also rent a hotel bike), it means the large pool and outdoor lounge area are a welcome surprise. The capacious rooms almost seem to boast a kind of colonial decadence, with wooden beams and floors, large windows, subtly coloured linen and walls all combining to create an impression of class and finesse, with all the desired mod cons to boot. The hotel lobby sets itself apart, with Khmer style in all its majestic opulence; golds and reds overwhelm the eye. Once you have explored the city, head back for a relaxing, traditional massage in the spa, have a dip in the pool, and head to the hotel’s restaurant that serves a combination of classic South East Asian cuisine and their interpretation of Western cuisine. All of the above for extremely reasonable rates - definitely not to be missed!
