Hotel Review
A tranquil oasis in the heart of a hectic city, Riad Kaiss, one of four properties in the Sanssouci Collection, is an elegant labyrinth of rooms, stairways and terraces built around two courtyards that are alive with tall trees and constant birdsong. The nine bedrooms and suites are individual, comfortable and beautifully decorated in traditional Islamic pattern style. A short walk along narrow streets lined with shops takes one to the famous Djemaa el-Fna square. Breakfast or a restorative cup of tea is served in the sun or shade of the highest terrace with fine views over the city to the Atlas Mountains. On offer are a hammam and spa, a small swimming pool, and cooking classes. Hayat and her team could not be more friendly, welcoming and helpful. Dinner can be eaten in or, more economically, at one of the many restaurants close at hand.
