The handsome market town of Shipston-on-Stour is curiously unsung given its prime location between the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon, so the opening of this stylish restaurant with rooms is giving it a great boost. The Bower House combines foodie flair with elegance and pleasing prices.

Shipston-on-Stour is a cracking little market town with characterful pubs, friendly cafes and indie boutiques. There’s easy access to superior walking on Brailes Hill, and Stratford is a short drive away. In fact, it’s so delightful that, in March, The Sunday Times Home section named it the best place to live in the Midlands. In May, when the Bower House opened its five fabulous rooms, Shipston became an equally great place to spend a night or two...
