For an unpretentious, idyllic and refreshing retreat, look no further than the Crinan Hotel in Argyll. Overlooking the Crinan Canal, the hotel boasts a fantastic view of Jura and Scarba just across the water. Fresh seafood is available daily in the Westward Restaurant and the Crinan Seafood Bar, whilst pre-dinner drinks can be had in the Gallery Bar at the top of the hotel watching the sun go down. If you’re looking for luxury and modern style, The Crinan Hotel is not for you – but every one of the rooms looks out onto an amazing moving picture of boats coming home in the evening and going out fishing during the day. There are loads of activities on offer: charter a boat and explore the coastline or simply don your walking boots and discover the beautiful surrounding countryside. For relaxation back at the hotel, you can book a soothing massage in the treatment room. You’d be hard pressed to find a better spot for a truly relaxing stay in a stunning, rural location.
