“Hosting scoundrels and scholars since 1879” is the slogan of this quirky boutique hotel in Belfast within striking distance of Queen’s University and the tranquil Botanic Gardens. Opened amid the stop-start lockdowns of 2020, it is the brainchild of the entrepreneur Melanie Harrison, who has brought interior design flair to this 19th-century former merchant’s home.
