For a one- or two-night stay in beautiful Bruges The Pand Hotel makes a charming and brilliantly located base from which to explore. Set in the heart of the picturesque mediaeval town centre, you can walk to all the sights from here in minutes. The hotel itself is traditional and old-school but absolutely delightful. You receive impeccable service and the cosy antique-filled drawing room is at your disposal (prettily decorated at Christmas time). The equally comfortable bar offers a full range of artisan teas in addition to the usual drinks. The bedrooms have recently been upgraded and feature sumptuous Ralph Lauren fabrics and earthy colours. They are a little on the dark side but offer every creature comfort, including warm and spacious marble bathrooms. The junior suites have four-poster beds and small balconies looking over the attractive gabled rooftops of Bruges. Breakfast is a highlight – table-served with aplomb in the light and bright breakfast room. Starched white linens, freshly squeezed juices, sensational Greengage jam and eggs cooked right there and then on an Aga! A glass of champagne is with the compliments of the hotel. Faultless. Highly recommended for a romantic mini-break weekend.
