Situated just outside the centre of the popular spa town, the hotel which has 70 rooms and plenty of parking space, can get booked up in summer months, mostly taken over for parties and wedding events. There’s a contemporary bar, attractive restaurant overlooking the manicured gardens with temple, a well equipped spa with pool, gym and tennis court within 14 acres of picturesque grounds. Set in a labyrinthine C18th country mansion - guest rooms either overlook the grounds and woodland or the car park and road beyond so for peace and quiet, it is recommended to book suites with country views. The different categories fall into either ‘cosy’, ‘deluxe’ or ‘spacious.’ Some rooms have a more decadent feel with ensuite bathrooms while others a simpler style with showers. Staff are helpful even if service is slower when the hotel is at full capacity. The set menu is decent however it would benefit from offering more vegetarian options and more generous portions. Breakfast is available until 10.15am and is part-buffet, part-cooked with, disappointingly, no fancy coffee options, just filtered. That said, rooms are equipped with coffee machines so guests could make their own espresso.

An 18th-century country mansion that sits peacefully among 14 acres of land on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells' town centre. Once inside you won’t want to leave; go for the views and food more than the spa.
