“A Rocco Forte hotel with two 18 hole golf courses, two swimming pools, a spa, four restaurants and a kids club. Classic and modern rooms and suites with private terraces, some with private pools. Very family friendly, but still luxurious. Ideal for golf enthusiasts, spa breakers and beach lovers. ”

Hotel Review
For a luxury holiday that’s worlds away from Sicily’s tourist hotspots, Sir Rocco Forte’s debut resort offers an idyllic retreat far from the madding crowds. On a tranquil 230-acre stretch of rocky coastline overlooking a glassy Med, this low-rise resort capitalises on the scenery. With two and a half golf courses, it’s a magnet for golf nuts and for those seeking expert coaching tennis and football is also on offer. Try water sports or lounge by the 60-metre outdoor infinity pool while little ones enjoy the kids’ club. The sleek Irene Forte Spa offers four warm thalassotherapy pools, lap pool, single-sex Finnish saunas, giant Turkish bath and dozens of beauty treatments.
The resort is sizeable, with over 190 rooms and suites, six with their own private pools, and 20 villas with pools for sale or rent. Rooms in earthy shades of ochre and russet blend cosmpolitan style with artisan touches like Maiolica tile-topped iron tables and contemporary four-poster beds, with a wall of windows offering uninterrupted sea views. Minimalist neutral bathrooms boast walk-in showers, double sinks, full-sized baths and Irene Forte bath products created with ingredients from the resort.
A choice of eight on-site bars and restaurants include the family friendly Liolà Trattoria, with top-notch pizza, and beach-side Amare, where guests choose fish from a catch-of-the-day stall. Book a table at Zagara for imaginative fine dining on spaghetti with red mullet and seabass with clams, escarole and truffles.
Verdura Resort is a sublime escape for those seeking indulgence and friendly first-class service. Although the Greek temples at Agrigento are only an hour’s drive away, tearing oneself away from the luxury R&R on offer at Verdura Resort is a big ask.
