“A hip & happening downtown hotel. Awash with bold colours & contemporary installations, The Living Room steals the show with cool DJs, a lively bar & an epic fireplace. Dine at an Asian-inspired restaurant or enjoy skyscrapers views from well-designed rooms. An urban retreat ideal for work or play.”

Hotel review

W Seattle delivers the brand’s signature nightclub vibe in the heart of the Emerald City, only four blocks back from the iconic waterfront: think moody lighting and lobby DJs pumping tunes.

This prime downtown location is walking distance from buzzing Pike Place Market, a throng of excellent restaurants and coffee shops, and the Metro - but taxis are advisable once the sun sets. To step in from the corner of 4th Avenue and Seneca Street is to witness Seattle's urban struggles. For hip bar crawls and late night eats, grab a short taxi to buzzing Belltown or the creative mecca Capitol Hill. If you’d rather relax in the hotel, start in the well-appointed gym or try the daily one-hour yoga class, then pop down for Happy Hour in the Living Room, where a huge three-storey fireplace casts a convivial glow.

The rooms themselves are a good size, but a little dated (particularly the bathrooms). Functional over fabulous, here you won’t find the razzle dazzle of W’s glitzier counterparts in London’s Soho or Miami’s South Beach. Views of the water are pretty special, though - when booking, ask for a corner room up high to admire Puget Sound.

W Seattle's greatest asset is its convenient location for main tourist spots and 20-minute airport access; travellers seeking brand familiarity will still enjoy the hotel but should approach with slightly lower expectations.

What is there to do in the area? Pike Place is a guest favorite. W Seattle is only four blocks from the market as well as a short trip away from Seattle Center.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer market style breakfast in TRACE Market with local flavors and Hawaiian inspired dishes as a nod to our Head Chef Steven Ariel.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Yes! We offer dinner at the Living Room Bar. I recommend Vons, Japonessa, and Purple if they want something more upscale.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our Studio Suites and WOW Suites are particularly popular because they offer ceiling-to-floor windows with great urban views as well as select views including The Sound and Mount Rainier.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? We can fit both a crib and roll away in a king or suite but due to fire codes not in a double. We offer a kids menu in TRACE Market and our popular FACES package room has a coloring book.

What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers? W Seattle is the perfect place for your urban adventure. We are centrally located around every prominent Seattle destination and with regular programming, there is always something fun to do within the hotel itself.
