Sitting on the shore of the Paraná River in central Argentina, Victoria is home to some of the best examples of Spanish colonial architecture in the country. The city is brimming with history, being the site of a native uprising that was put down in 1750, and home to an oratory to the Virgin of Aranzazú from 1810. But for those who are looking for something more in the way of relaxation, there’s also a great beach resort in the city offering kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. We’ve selected the best places to stay in Victoria to get the best of both worlds. Oh, and make sure you visit the famous BordeRio Bodega & Vinedos (winery and vineyard), which is located just outside the city and enjoys great views of the hills and river.
With the warmth comes the rain in Victoria, so although September to March boasts temperatures in the mid-twenties celsius, these are also the months with the highest chance of rain. To avoid the showers aim to visit between May and September when temperatures are fractionally lower.
