Downtown Dubai is where you’ll find both the Dubai Mall, which is the world’s largest mall, and the Burj Khalifa - which has been the world’s tallest building since 2008. It’s also home to the Dubai Fountain, which is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system. And the Souq Al Bahar, a luxurious Arabian market. And the best hotels in Downtown Dubai have views of these biggest/tallest winners, and many more impressive sights.
Downtown Dubai isn’t all impressive new builds, the Old Town area is in the original, low-rise Arabic style, and has some graceful old buildings, lively markets and some more traditional restaurants, but most of this area is big, confident and modern.
Downtown Dubai also has a very beautiful opera house, an Olympic size ice rink, an aquarium and underwater zoo, and numerous viewing towers and lookouts, including one on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa - this is an impressive city and really deserves to be seen from every angle.
