For adventure
- Most people visiting Yosemite are looking for some kind of adventure, and they’ll find the Tenaya Lodge well provisioned to assist. You’re just two miles from the park’s South Gate, and as well as the pool, spa and gym, this lodge has plenty of gear you can borrow - both in winter and summer. There are five on-site restaurants to share between the 244 rooms.
For an eco-friendly stay
-
McCaffrey House isn’t within Yosemite, it’s within the adjacent Stanislaus National Forest, and offers comfortable, homely accommodation in amongst the enchanting scenery of the High Sierra. There are eight rooms, decorated with eclectic/vintage style plus an admirably eco-friendly attitude.
For luxury
-
If you’re on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Yosemite and you want to treat yourself then the Chateau du Sureau might provide the perfect combination of luxury and adventure. You’re just outside the park in Oakhurst, and the chateau looks, as you might expect, like something you’d see in the Loire Valley, with manicured gardens, nine, classically decorated rooms with hardwood floors and fireplaces and a fine dining restaurant.
For a spa
- Rush Creek Lodge is designed based on traditional lodges, with the best rooms featuring wood-burning stoves and sit-out areas. Two outdoor pools (one adult-only) and a comprehensive games room make this option as suitable for couples as it is for families. The full-service spa is the real selling point though, perfect for tired muscles after a day outdoors.
For glamping
- Expect all the comforts of a luxury hotel, in the form of a campsite, at Autocamp Yosemite - a collection of tents, Airstream trailers and cabins. We recommend picking a trailer for spa-like bathrooms and mini kitchens. Complete with a pool and outdoor firepits - this is camping perfection.

- Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort is a laid-back rustic retreat set within the forest. A range of accommodation gives options for all, from charming doubles to bunk rooms and tents with prices starting at around just $60. The June Bug Cafe and eco-spa complete the hippie feel at this fun nature stay.
