Coastal Gems in Le Marche, Italy
Best Beaches
Some of the best coastal gems in Le Marche are in the north, near Ancona, several can only be reached by cycling, scheduled bus, or by boat. Monte Conero stands out, a nature reserve with dramatic steep limestone slopes, leading to lapping azure waters. Don't miss the neighbouring spectacular blue flag white sandy beaches of Sirolo and Numana.

Heading further south, you'll find Fermo, this beach is popular with families and definitely has a buzz about it. If watersports are your thing, then windsurfing, sailing and general messing about in boats provide great entertainment. For keen cyclists, there is a route from Casabianca di Fermo up to the village of San Tommaso, or if all that sounds too much, take a siesta on any of the beach loungers!

Long beaches with fine white sand and shallow water can be found in 'Riviera delle Palme' in Ascoli, where you're spoilt for choice. The golden sands and palm trees of Grottamare beckon, along with Cupra Marittima, where the ancient medieval village overlooks the busy sandy stretch below.
