For a simple property with excellent food, and one that won't break the bank in this extremely expensive and glamourous region, you'd struggle to look past the Auberge du Vieux Chateau. Situated in a charming village just west of Grasse with cobbled streets and pretty bougainvillea clad properties, one of the best things about it is the epic view. The vista extends down over Mougins and further on to the coast. Staff are happy and helpful and can always spare a minute - even when the place is heaving. This is not a property for those seeking luxury and a pacey nightlife - the auberge is one for those who want a charming traditional property where they can have a comfy bed preceded by superb food.
